Assignment: Prospectus Form: Study Title, Supporting Literature, and Problem Section Part 2

This week you will use the feedback from your instructor in Week 2 to complete the Problem section of the Prospectus Form which includes:

1.     Study Title 2.     Supporting Literature (Update with any new sources)

a.    Search terms and databases searched b.    3-5 annotated literature summaries for an HSO organizational research problem

3.     Problem

a.    Single sentence social health problem b.    Single sentence research problem c.    Single sentence research gap

**Be sure to follow the formatting examples at the bottom of the Prospectus form in order to complete the required information.

In Week 2, you drafted items 1-5 to get feedback from your instructor before moving ahead. In Week 3, you will conclude the problem section by demonstrating a gap in the literature. The need to address an identified gap in the research literaturemust be clear and there must be current relevance to the discipline and area of practice. Keep in mind that a gap in the research is not, in and of itself, a reason to conduct research.

Using the Prospectus Form, list the 3-5 sources using the required annotated bibliography format in the Supporting Literature section. Students must use the required format displayed in the examples at the bottom of the Prospectus Form.

Keep in mind, that as you move through each section of the prospectus form in this course you will eventually list all supporting sources for each section in the Supporting Literature section. Students will eventually have 10 annotated summaries that support all sections of the prospectus form.

By Day 7

Submit the Prospectus Form with the below sections completed:

Submit your updated Prospectus Form with the completed information required for the Purpose section, additional sources selected and with the previously completed sections of the form

**Students to follow the format and examples at the bottom of the prospectus form to ensure full credit.

Note: You should also include any work from previous weeks on the Prospectus Form. The Prospectus Form is designed to be iterative, so you will be continually revising and adding to the content as you progress through the course.

Important Reminder

As you are reviewing the literature for justification sources. Keep in mind that you can often identify gaps in research right in the abstract. Moving forward (for the prospectus) you will not need to write an annotated bibliography. Please feel free to follow the example below:

Include the complete, APA citation and (a) an in-text citation; (b) what they studied; (c) what they found; and (d) why this is important in relation to your study. This evidence provides the justification for your research problem.

(a) William and Looker (2020); (b) studied the relationship between nurse manager job strain, burnout, lower organizational commitment, and higher turnover intention; (c) they found that nurse leaders have a high turnover rate due to  job strain and burnout; (d) this in important in relation to my study because establishes direct relationship between an operational problem and conditions influencing the problem.
