There is the need to seek the suggestions, opinions and suggestions of all the stakeholders about ways we can embrace the remote working environment on the interest of everyone and meet the organization goals (Courtney, 2020). Our role as the HR is to prepare the staff and front managers for the task of virtual or remote workplace by equipping them with the necessary guidance through training and education (Courtney, 2020).
Training Staff
Once the change is communicated, the feedback from the staff about the current challenges of virtual teams and those experienced in the past are handled by teaching them about the visual cues and gestures that would help them get the shared information clearly (Orr, 2021). There is also the need to train staff and educate them on developing best installation for zoom meetings from the network and setup in order to prepare them deliver value. The training empower the employees and gives them confidence in understanding how to work from home without any challenges (Courtney, 2020). Training the employees makes them understand the reasons why the change is necessary and offered the skills that are required to achieve the change and this would eliminate cases of resistance.
Aligning the Change with Organization Goals and Values
The Stalk Parker is an organization that believes in excellence and continuous improvement of services as part of their values and bringing change like virtual teams and remote workplace is one of the approaches that improve the efficiency of the organization during the Covid-19 period. The organization lead in ways of recognition, motivation and empowerment by listening to the feedback and working with towards company goals and this is also achieved when the suggestions, complaints and challenges staff undergo through working remotely is handled through training and addressing their raised challenges (Courtney, 2020). Motivation of the employees contributes to meeting the organization goals. The empowerment that is conducted through training makes employees feel appreciated and their contribution valued bringing change easily and with passion.
Benefits of the Change Strategy
The proposed change initiative will break the status quo that change in the organization is unrealistic by focusing on the challenge that is employees’ satisfaction and needs since they are the main implementers. The successful adoption of change through awareness, involvement, engagement and training empower the staff to deliver value through virtual and remote teams and working from home increasing productivity despite the disruption of physical meetings. The training and awareness makes it easier for the staff to use zoom meetings that would assist in social interactions and use the virtual cues and gestures that makes communication successful. Finally, the change strategy would prepare the organization for the future since remote workplace might be a life time experience and the organization would eliminate costs of physical offices and ensure that tasks that can be done remotely be maintained and only critical services handled from the office (Orr, 2021).
