Just like any larger company, Padgett-Beale is prone to cyber-attacks. Our technical team has in the past successfully repelled multiple cyber-attacks on our IT infrastructure. The attacks have mainly targeted guests’ door locks, guests’ Wi-Fi access, and credit card point-of-sale. In the last month, our technical team identified a sophisticated cyberattack that was being mounted against the hotel’s entire human resource management system. We however aggressively initiated measures against the threat to protect our customers and our business with further toughening of our IT infrastructure. Our team is also working closely with relevant authorities to identify the perpetrators.

While there has not been a serious breach of customer privacy in the previous threats, we cannot relent in protecting our systems for the sake of our business and our customers. We believe that cyber attackers are also working hard to break through our systems. We will constantly communicate relevant information to our customers in a bid to help them protect their privacy whenever they log in to our systems.

We wish to inform our esteemed customers that even as we strive to protect them against cyberattacks, they also have a role to play to protect their privacy. Some of the actions that you as an individual can take include;

• Do not click on links or attachments sent from anonymous senders or senders you do not recognize.
• Do not disclose sensitive personal information to strange addresses.
• Be wary of internet users using suspicious or misleading domain names
• Keep your personal and private information locked down
• Always use strong passwords and do not repeat your passwords on different sites
• In case of any suspicious activity in your systems, please report immediately to the management to take action.

We believe that with these simple actions, our customers will be able to minimize the risk of falling prey to cyber attackers. At Padgett-Beale, the security of our customers and their trust is our priority. We wish to assure the customer of our commitment to using all necessary resources to strengthen the security of their IT systems. We will regularly share our experiences from these cyber threats with our customers while working closely with the entire security vendor ecosystem to develop means of protecting all of us from the ever-growing threat of cyber-attacks.
