Nice job using my requested format for your response. I was unclear as to when you were discussing Volmert et al. and when you were discussing Stroh. Instead of referring to “he” or “they,” use the author’s name to ensure it is clear who you are referring to. Your critique of Volmert et al. seemed to slide into discussing Volmert. Also, your understanding of the four challenges to change discussed by Stroh is unclear. Please see my PowerPoint and presentation from Week 2, as well as Ch 3 of the text. We can also meet to discuss if it is still unclear to you.

Week 3 Discussion: Good job! With an issue like immigration and crossing border, it will be really important for you to go back and look at the resources on power and then apply those concepts to your social problem. We can meet and talk about it as undocumented immigration is one of my expertise areas!

I would revise your problem statement to note that Haitian refugees is not the problem, but rather how they are received (or not received) in the US is the problem you are addressing.
