Being in the business from July 1916, working and celebrating memorable events, accomplishments and services spread over the century of innovation, inspiring ideas, people and moments. As largest aerospace company and principal producer of commercial jetliners, space and security, defense systems and service provider of aftermarket support. Boeing is America’s leading industrial exporter, supporting airlines as well as governments, and clienteles in more than 150 countries, employing more than 140,000 individuals in United States and more than 65 nations. Boeing personalized services and products consist of commercial and military aircraft, satellites, weaponry, defense and electronic systems, launch systems, performance-based logistics, advanced information and communication systems and training. Degree of Competition

The commercial jet industry and marketing go on tremendously competitive. Boeing has to face belligerent competitors internationally, such as Airbus is the biggest competitor, Embraer and Bombardier .Boeing handles the tough competition by focusing on refining its methods and low cost strategy. The company continues to contest with other aircraft builders by providing superior value aircrafts, support and after sales services. Boeing has an extensive practice of control and invention in aerospace. The corporation remains to increase its line of product and services to satisfy developing client requirements. Its fights with competition with staying ahead of competition in terms of wide-ranging skills comprises generating fresh, more effective associates of its commercial and military aircraft clans and generating unconventional technology answers. Negotiating Authority of Customers

There are never ending demand of buyers in the aerospace business, customers requires low cost, faultless answers of aerospace travelling, causing less profitability in long run. Although the customer base of Boeing very large but still bargaining power of the customers is very high they do possess the ability to pursue maximum markdowns and bids. Boeing carries on leveraging its widespread client backing and services system which goes through the life cycle of the aircraft.
Negotiating Authority of Suppliers

Dominance of suppliers in the market decreases the margins, suppliers are powerful giants of their own sector like electronics and steel engineering sectors are major suppliers. Industrial Goods sector suppliers are so powerful that they can negotiate and extract greater amounts from the companies in this field. Threat of New Entrants

A new entrant in the industry brings novelty and innovation, they introduce low price strategies, dropping expenses, and offering unique assessment schemes to the clienteles. The Boeing Company has power and capacity to fight all such encounters and construct operational obstacles to defend its competitive superiority. As we have seen in the case of airbus A-380, as it was believed that Boeing will not survive it and lose all it market but Boeing did manage to fight the outburst of this degree of change. Boeing similarly has dealt with the contestants from Russia (Irkut – United Aircraft Corporation), China (COMAC) and Japan (Mitsubishi Aircraft).
Threat of Substitutes

Technological advancement has transformed the society and the manufacturing processes like Google Drive and drop box have substituted hard drives. Boeing meets the threat substitution by being proactive in after sales services, catering and changing the needs of product or service is in demand. The aerospace business has high switching cost for example, with change of technology the customers have to train the staff and equipment as well as the experience is another prime factor for high cost of switching. Boeing understands and capitalizes on the cost of switching.
Conclusion

The analysis of the five competitive forces predict that The Boeing Company is well managed and strategically farsighted company, although it is surrounded by immense competition and threats but it still manage to cope up with the challenges and tackles the forces which effects the profitability of the business in Aircrafts and Defense industry. They can recognize game changing movements very fast and can quickly answer to hold the developing prospect.
