Organized Crime Essay, Organized crime refers to a group of people who engage in any illegal activity to generate profit. In addition, there are laws from the federal government which deal with money laundering mainly from organized crime. Before talking class, we studied how RICO has put everything together to understand how both the FBI and RICO work closely together to end illegal activities such as organized crimes. To be precise, organized crime activities include racketeering, fraud, drug trafficking, and human trafficking. Exploitation mainly through prostitution, smuggling, and extortion of money from others is also part of the activities seen from the organized crime groups. Some individuals also get money by embezzling from the industries and the leading financial institutions such as banks and other controlled institutions. The entire above mentioned are the illegal activities carried out by the organized crime groups.

Yes, I believe my knowledge of organized crime will be useful to my career because it will be a refresher for me. I have been working in the police for the last two decades. After I left the police force, I realized I needed more knowledge about organized crime. I enrolled in the course, which was to enable me to finish my BA in criminal justice. The experience will help me to be on good radar of understanding how organized crimes are planned.

Any unreasonable searches and the seizers shall not be violated at all costs, and no arrest warrants shall be issued (Donohue, 2016, 1324). All the rights are supported by oath or affirmation, and this is mainly described by the persons or the items being seized.

The Fifth Amendment; is the amendment that protects us from being held for committing any form of the crime unless only after being indicted by the police correctly. The amendment guarantees people the due process, and the state or the country is mandated to respect one’s legal rights. The right not only protects the citizens from being secured from any unlawful search but also helps the law enforcement efforts against crime hurt people. They only need to have a reasonable cause before moving into any person’s house or property to be searched. Even if the police can engage in an intelligent search, they need to show it more likely when and how it occurred. If there are any forms of limitations against the search or seizers, the law enforcement efforts need to be limited too. In this case, the police ate likely to fail since they will not have given the person the full due process.

RICO law is one of the common in the US. This is the prosecution and defense department which deals with organized crimes. Racketeer influenced and the corrupt organization (RICO) was established in 1970 by congress to combat organized crime Acts to fight organized crime in the nation. Since then, the law has been in use in dealing with kind of mafia groups (Murner, 2018, 1619). The bill was established mainly to go for the wrongdoings as one of the nation’s criminal enterprises. For example, in the US, Title 18, section 1961, sets forth for the RICO activities, which form the basis of the RICO act claim. The events of the RICO can include robbery and arson. RICO has a close understanding of the federal government and those cases within the state. Their main strategies are combating the organized crime in the nation. In addition, RICO needs not to spend more of the resources in protecting someone who has been committing any form of the crimes mentioned above. I think the strategies for combating organized crime is working. Only negotiating with anyone who has been caught as a member of organized crime should not comply.

I will choose the FBI. FBI mission is to protect and defend the US and the entire world against terrorists and foreign intelligence threats. The primary function is to conduct professional investigations and authorize any form of intelligence in collecting the necessary information regarding international crimes and counter the threat paused by both domestic and international threats. In addition, the conduct all types of counterintelligence activities when it comes to coordinating the same activities with other authorized agencies in the intelligence community. They are also mandated to protect the government’s critical infrastructures against terrorists. In combating the organized crimes, they need to gather information on the planned crimes and criminal acts (Kessler, 2016, 77). The FBI operates through the technical, scientific assistance in getting mas disasters regarding organized crimes.

To be an FBI, one need to a US citizen, age 23 and 37 years of age. One must have a BA degree, driver’s license, and need to have worked with the profession for the last three years. I think I will join the agency one day since I have been in the police force for long and am currently pursuing my BA degree.
