Leadership Styles

I will go for the affiliative style of leadership since it helps promote harmony by promoting team building and also ensuring that every employee feels part and parcel of the place of work.

Scenario

The chosen scenario is the scenario number when which befits my desired style of leadership. The difficulty the two employees in working together needs a leadership style that will ensure that harmony prevails at the place of work. To avoid their personal issues from spreading to other employees and straining the good working relationship they could be enjoying, team building ought to be encouraged (Preston, Moon, Simon, Allen, & Kossi, 2015).

This style of leadership is also appropriate for the chosen scenario since the impending disagreements can be a source more other problems that can negatively impact the organization. Human resources serve as an important strength especially when there is cooperation in ach9eving the goals the organization has. It is up to the manager to ensure that inclusivity is advocated for by solving challenges like the ones in this scenario.

Resolving the Problems Faced

There are many elements within affiliate leadership style that helps promote peaceful interaction and coexistence at the place of work. The best element that can be used to resolve the problem in the presented case scenario is “nurturing and advocating for friendly interactions among places of work.” To apply this element, the root cause of the problem will have to be identified. However, before this level is arrived at, the manager will have to invoke some elements which fights for recognizing the “values that the employees have and encourage them to be disclosing the issues they may be having whether touching on the organization or on fellow employees. In that case, they have to share their emotions as a way of promoting open mindedness.

By sharing their feelings, it will give the leader have a clear picture of what really offends their employees especially in relation to one another. After knowing this, the employer will have to invoke another element of management within the chosen leadership style where they will now make a decision which will entail nurturing their relationship, develop a culture of concern for each other and also respect the opinions of other workmates (Bolman & Deal, 2017). The employer will thus allow the two employees to share their views and opinions concerning the problem. The manager will have to avoid any confrontational situations. As a way of avoiding anxiety, the manager will have to share the outcome of the meeting to the general public. This is also a good element of the style of leadership.

Leadership in The Decision-Making Process

The ability to make decisions is a critical step in ensuring that normal operations of an organization are adhered to. This especially critical in solving emerging crises which an organization may face. In order to have a climate within the organization that meets the goals of a business, many aspects will have to be considered. For instance, effective decision making skills are vital in ensuring that the leader is sensitive to any issues that may affect production and hence take the earliest opportunity in conducting a risk analysis as pertains to maximizing production and eventually profits.

For there to be an environment that helps the organization realize its goals, the leader has to encourage employees through motivational programs like team building and also a good enumeration. It also serves a very good purpose to recognize employees through clear procedures on promotions.
