Art Creation – Poetry
Just like any piece of art, the use of poetry to communicate to a given audience has become common in the world of literature. Poetry has often been used to understand as well as appreciate the world around us. Its strength lies in the ability to improve cognitive functions, express love and affection as well as communicate healing or pain. As a source of inspiration, poetry can be used to encourage people from all walks of life. It can be used to communicate emotions and advance change in any situation. This task seeks to use poetry as a source of inspiration and hence help come up with another poetry that is a true reflection of the identified piece of art.
Inspiration Piece
Jack Adam Weber has always been my favorite when it comes to poetry that talks about love and affection. As we live in a world where love defines most relationships, it will be prudent to use poetry that dwells on love as my point of reference. The poem “anointing” is thus my favorite from Adam Weber.
The background
The poem is about love. A lady, beautiful like amber, has been trusted not to run away from love despite the challenges involved. The narrator (lover) reminds her that she ought not to leave love but rather use past love moments as a solid reminder that they need to be with each other.
Anointing
I anointed with amber,
So as not to forget your sap,
Driving my blood hog-wild,
Hopeful antidote to our trunks,
Thrusting now apart.
But the stars burn through the sheets,
As awful sorry gray tonight,
Shrouding the oil in the resin,
That once made your entry every everything,
Everything daylight.
My Art Piece
Having read the poem by Weber, I have occasionally developed some poems to reflect the message she passes across in her poems. Here is an example of one such poem that has been driven by the inspiration of “Anointing” as written by Weber. The title for my inspiration piece is “So deep it goes”. The piece is about a man reminding her lover that her love means so much to him. The lover who is far away ought to know that she is missed and had she been around, the narrator could have felt much better. And so, her absence makes love….
