ANSWER

The self-assessment tool employed showed the readiness of the organization in embracing the use of Ryanodex as compared to Dantrolene in addressing cases of Malignant Hyperthermia among susceptible young patients. The scores were categorized as not prepared to use, on the way, prepared and finally fully implemented. The tool concluded that for our organization, based on evidence based practice, the organization was prepared. Based on this analysis, the best intervention will be to ensure that more Ryanodex is maintained in the shelves and the quantity of Dantrolene is reduced tremendously.

The prepared tag implies that even the employees are ready to embrace the use of Ryanodex and hence there is no reason as to why Dantrolene has to be faced away completely. However, based on the ethical rule that a patient is under no duress to use a particular kind of remedy for a disorder, it will still be reasonable to maintain a small portion of Dantrolene on the shelves for some patients who may be adamant to use it over Ryanodex for reasons best known to themselves. Another solution will be to partner with insurance providers who will be advocating for better covers for patients who have MH and desire to use Ryanodex as opposed to Dantrolene. Even though this may sound challenging, it is a good option to explore.

These proposals are very much consistent with the evidence available as most facilities have embraced a minimal level of Dantrolene on their shelves while optimizing the quantity of Ryanodex.

How Realistic the Intervention Is

The said intervention is very realistic as it is quite easy to be implemented. Besides requiring no external standards in order to have such measures implemented, it is also less costly. What employees need to know is just equip themselves with proper procedures on how to prepare proper quantities of Ryanodex for their patients.
