Roger’s diffusion of innovation theory is a particularly good theoretical framework to apply to an EBP project. However, students may also choose to use change models, such as Duck’s change curve model or the transtheoretical model of behavioral change. Other conceptual models, such as a utilization model (Stetler’s model) and EBP models (the Iowa model and ARCC model) can also be used as a framework for applying your evidence-based proposal in clinical practice. Apply one of the above models and carry your implementation through each of the stages, phases, or steps identified in the chosen model.
In 500-750 words (not including the title page and references page), discuss applying one of the change models to the implementation plan:

Identify the selected model or theoretical framework and discuss its relevance to your project.

Discuss each of the stages in the change model/framework.

Describe how you would apply each stage in your proposed implementation.

Change Model

Implementation of change models determines the success or failure of change. A practical implementation process should be well documented with all the relevant information, but easy to understand by all the affected stakeholders. Different change models are used depending on the context and desired results because of their different implementation techniques. Therefore, this paper intends to discuss the most relevant change model that can be used in the implementation plan to bring all the affected stakeholders on board.

Duck’s Change Curve Duck’s change curve is a powerful model that helps understand the stages of transition for both individuals and organisations. Learning and following the steps people go through in adoption to change helps in the prediction of how individuals will react to new techniques of operation. The model creates an effective platform where the drivers of change can support and give the help needed to the affected stakeholders through the transition. People’s personalities determine how they will react to change. Therefore, understanding the different characters of team members in an organisation allows the management to know how different people are likely to respond to the new situation, which gives them room to apply relevant coaching skills for smooth transition.
