Yet we are embedded in a broader societal context that includes our family, our communities, and our nation – not to mention that it is common today to speak of an even wider global community. In addition to these challenges, consider how social media, new media
technology and even automation are changing and shaping the world.

Many changes are happening in the world today. Industrialization/urbanization and changes in international business practices are examples of those changes. However, despite the many changes that have come with a strain on nature, making it difficult for human life. For instance, there has been a change in climatic conditions that have complicated human productivity.

Furthermore, the increase in human population has resulted in a strain in resources, unemployment as well as poverty in society. This essay seeks to evaluate the role that social media and automation are changing the world. The purpose of individuals in averting such challenges in society will as well be presented.

How social media, new media technology, and even automation are changing and shaping the world.

Media technology and automation have a significant role to play in shaping the world. Automation has made lives more comfortable and better. Better technology has made it possible for people to communicate even when they are miles away. Furthermore, through social media, the marketing of products has been made easy hence boosting electronic marketing. Technology has also revolutionized the health industry. There has been a significant improvement in the manner in which healthcare can be delivered through eHealth. The medical world has designed applications that allow healthcare professionals to monitor the health of patients, even when they are away from them.

Furthermore, patients themselves can monitor the progress of their health using mobile application platforms (Zeitzoff, 2017). Nevertheless, despite the many advantages, automation has led to job losses in the world. Most advanced countries have replaced human capital with robots as well as computers hence rendering a majority of the people jobless.

Role of individuals in trying to solve some of the problems Human beings themselves can resolve most of the issues facing humanity. For instance, ecological changes such as climate change can be avoided by a man being more responsible for the environment, he/she lives in.  There is a need for man to be more conscious of the role that the environment plays in influencing other human activities. Individuals are mandated to advocate for afforestation. This is a role that has to be taken up by individuals to fight the negative impacts of deforestation. Secondly, individuals play a significant role in influencing the behavior of people around them (Gross & Dreu, 2019). In a family set up, it is essential to teach the culture of responsibility as well as helping one another. Collective responsibility is the best approach to combat the many problems that face society.
