Technology has a great role to play, especially in today’s dynamic healthcare system. From patient admissions to the dispensing of drugs, the current system calls for IT system integration (Staggers, Elias, Makar, Hunt, & Alexander, 2016). My organization has, to a great extent, embraced the use of information technology in almost all departments of service delivery. In order to have efficient care for patients, I have witnessed a smooth interaction between our informaticists and other healthcare professionals. First and foremost, they simplify the communication and interpretation of information obtained from information technology (Booth, 2016). When information technology is in use, specialists engage nurses in terms of what is expected. They also allow them to ask questions regarding any aspect of informatics that may not be clear to them.
