ANSWER

Whether I can use my place of work to be a leader

The working environment will always shape how a person develops into a leader. I can use my place of employment to learn leadership skills, learn how to manage other employees, set and achieve goals among other leadership traits (Fischer, 2017). My place of work can also help shape my decision-making abilities as well as how to use diversity in an organization to achieve set goals.

To ensure that I offer quality nursing care that is grounded on evidence-based practiceTo improve nursing skills and expertise by attending leadership seminars and in-service training

Strategies

Expand my research interest by visiting nursing libraries and undertaking research to help improve evidence-based practice experience.Ensure I attend both locally planned and regionally planned seminars related to nursing

Taking less time when undertaking diagnostics especially after undergoing the strategies aboveReceiving positive feedback from my supervisor/ mentor regarding my service delivery before and after implementing the strategies mentioned above.

TimeLine

To achieve the first outcome which entails using evidence-based practice to provide quality care, I will need six months where I will undertake research and put it into practice. For the second goal, I will need one year on the minimum as I intend to attend at least two seminars or workshops before putting the experiences into practice.

Conference purpose and description

One of the most insightful upcoming leadership conferences is Orlando 2020 which is to take place between March 2nd to 4th. It has specifically been designed for people at the forefront of healthcare leadership with the specific tracks being: leadership excellence, safety for physicians a, frontline nurse leaders as well as safety experts (Orlando 2020 Leadership Conference). The objective of the conference is “building strong leadership for transforming care” My plan is thus to be part of this conference.
