The objective of this paper is to locate one grand nursing theory and one middle-range nursing theory that is applied in a research study.

Self-care deficit nursing theory is an excellent example of grand nursing theory. The theory mainly focuses on the self-care needs of a client. Social and developmental needs, activities that are goal-oriented to the patients with the aim of life maintenance and health is typically what self-care is based on. A nurse must be able to determine the reasons that enable the patients to meet their requirements and focus on how they can help achieve their needs for self-care to be completed (Bailey & Zaragoza, 2017).
