Qualitative research entails dealing with the feelings of people concerning certain situations or rather what their individual experiences are over a given subject matter. In that case, the person carrying out the research entirely depends on the feedback he/she gets and is hence at the mercy of the respondent. This is however advantageous as the research can give very reliable results as the feedback is rarely subjected to manipulation (Holloway, & Galvin, 2016). The person carrying out the research observes and carries out the interview based on the environmental setting of the respondent hence no interference is expected. The disadvantage however is that the feedback is much more about individual perceptions and it may not represent a bigger sampling size. Furthermore, the responded can feel nervous and respond as per the interest of the researcher. Therefore, there exist no benchmark of conclusively saying the results are true and reliable.
