            This is an annotated bibliography that includes five sources to support my research question. My research question is: “How texting changes the way we communicate with other people?” These five sources are academic journals, scholarly journals and peer-reviewed journals which is about texting and communication. It can be recent studies or empirical research that serve as pieces of evidence for my information in my research proposal.

It also examines the meanings and uses practices related to texting today. 

            I think this is a reliable source. First, it shows the information about the release and correction date which means this article has a currency factor. It shows who is the audience of this article included adolescence (13-17 yrs), adulthood (18 yrs & older), and young adulthood (18-29 yrs). So, relevance is mentioned in this journal article. The author, the source, and the publisher are shown clearly in this text so it has authority. Next, the information in this article was gathered by the interviews with 31 Danish high school students and drawing on the domestication approach.

            I will expand my topic analysis by incorporating the information in this source. This source will be engaged in the argument of my topic.

Next, the authors show clearly shreds of evidence through research across cultures, research specific to the U.S, the Circumplex Model, and the current study to support their information. That means this article has accuracy. In order to avoid the constrictions of collecting data exclusively from university students, the authors gathered their information by recruiting young adult participants through Facebook, regardless of university or college status.

This source will serve as one of the many aspects that texting affects. I will use this source to show to the audience that texting is not always causing negative impacts.

            This scholarly article is a research question about considering between texting and talking and is it important when providing criticism to others. It shows the detrimental impact on emotion caused by in-person or text message criticism which based on empirical research or hypotheses and it also compared in-person criticism to text message criticism in emerging adults.

            In order to know if this source is reliable or not, I will step by step examine and judge the elements in this article. First, it has an entry and revision date which means it has a currency factor. Next, it has the authors and the affiliation which show the authority of the source. And the reliability of the source is shown by evidence which includes the hypothesis from relevant theories of computer-mediated communication (CMC).

            The information in this source will support me in testing whether the impact of text message criticism on social and relational outcomes mirror those obtained for emotional wellbeing. I will use this source as evidence for a part of my research question because it reflects the impact of negative texting on other people’s emotions.

Next, a clear purpose and some evidences are given by the authors to support their information. Their purpose of this research is to undertake some analyses of how the language used in text messaging varies as a function of personality traits and the interpersonal context. In this article, they show some tables as evidences about the occurrence of linguistic alterations or descriptive statistics for all reported variables to assist their research. In order to collect data and information for the research, the researchers asked participants which are 224 students to enroll in introductory psychology classes at Ball State University who participated for partial course credit. And after completing personality questionnaires, participants provided their most recent text messages and indicated their relationship with the message recipient on several dimensions.

This academic journal is research that examines the important role of perceived playfulness in mobile instant texting and its effect on social interaction. The authors also talk about the combined effect of texting and emoticon facilitates perceived playfulness.
